Stunning wineries, beautiful scenery, great wines and excellent food make for the perfect wine tour in Mendoza, Argentina.
We pick you up in the morning and head for the vineyards of
Lujan de Cuyo, the heart of
Mendoza wine country. Our English-speaking guide will escort you around four premium wineries, old and modern, high tech and quaint, with a spectacular backdrop of snow capped mountains.
First we take you to
Alta Vista
, an old style winery completely renovated and refurbished by a French wine family. Here we try Torrontes, Bonarda, Malbec and have a special tasting of their Grand Reserva, one of Argentina's best Malbecs. Next we do a winery tour of
Sottano, a stunning new boutique winery owned by three generations of winemakers. Here we do a personal tour of the vineyard and facility, followed by a tasting of their excellent Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon reserva. The winery lunch is in the modern and elegant
Ruca Malen. You enjoy a five-course gourmet meal, created by chef Lucas Bustos who pairs each imaginative dish with five different wines, including Ruca Malen's top varietal Kinien. The afternoon is spent tank and barrel tasting at the large, ultra-modern
Bodega Tapiz. The day ends with an invigorating horse drawn ride through the vineyard and an instructive tour of the winery.
Our wine tour groups are small and private (never more than
6 people), our wine guides the best, and eager to give instruction in wine appreciation if necessary and tell you the background to Argentina's fascinating wine heritage. Transport is in a well maintained, air-conditioned vehicle and chilled mineral water is on hand all day and throughout the wine tour.
Price:
$ 150 US per person, including winery lunch.
The price includes a Mendoza wine tour gift pack with Wine Republic magazine and one of our favorite wines.
