4.30pm  Return to hotel

Pick up is at 9.30 am from your hotel and we go to Lujan de Cuyo, the premier wine growing region in Argentina and where the most famous wineries are located.  It’s the first choice when choosing a wine area to tour in Argentina.  It is situated 30 minutes south of Mendoza City, amidst the country’s finest vineyards with the snow-capped Andes in the distance.  We go directly to Bodega Norton, one of Argentina’s most famous and largest wineries.  We go to the Casa Patronal (where the original owner Eduardo Norton lived) enter the large kitchen to begin a class in traditional Mendoza cuisine, using the famous clay ovens that add so much flavour to local food products.  Here you learn how to make empanadas criollas, carne a la masa and a casserole dish typical of the area. Next we take a quick tour of the winery, visiting its atmospheric old world cellar and high tech bottling area.  The winery tasting room affords splendid views of the vineyards and Andes in the back ground. We then go a Blending Roomwhere you blend your own wine and we bottle, cork and personally label the best.   You then sit down to enjoy what you have cooked, accompanied by the winery’s Roble label wines, and indeed your own blend if you wish.

Return to Mendoza at 4.30pm
